The E.J. Whitten Foundation is a nationally recognised leading men’s health not-for-profit charity organisation, aiming to increase the awareness of prostate cancer and raise funds for research into the disease.
The organisation was established in 1995 to commemorate the memory of E.J. Whitten- ‘Mr Football’, who unfortunately passed away due to prostate cancer.
The primary objective of the E.J. Whitten Foundation is to increase the Australian community’s awareness of prostate cancer and raise funds for research into the disease.
The Foundation’s aim is to become a leading advocate for prostate cancer and men’s health awareness in Australia.
Prostate cancer, found mainly in men over the age of 50 is now the most common form of non-skin related cancer.
Each year, 18,700 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Sadly, 3,000 men do not survive the disease each year.
Since its inception the Foundation has raised over $3 million with the funds going to a number of nominated beneficiaries supporting prostate cancer for men’s health.
